Several boys from Manilo FPA will attend the FFA convention at the University of Illinois June 13 14 and 15. They will judge dairy cattle fat stock poultry and grain and witness parliamentary procedure contests and public speaking events. An evening FFA follies and daily activities include softball swimming contests and tours of University Farms. Two delegates will be chosen at a June 9 meeting at 7 00 PM CST to represent the school in voting.

Work Starts on Building for Feed Mill

Ground has been broken for a new feed mill on the Ide family lots. Robert Huette, son of Tremont raiser John Huette, backs the venture. He brings army service experience and a background with Murphy's concentrates. The firm aims to have the mill ready by August first offering grinding and ration services to local farmers and feeders.

Obituary of John Franklin Reynolds of Manito

John Franklin Reynolds born June 25 1881 in Green Valley Illinois died June 2 1950 at his Manito home after a period of declining health. He married Beulah Stuart February 14 1912 and farmed in Fulton and Mason counties before settling in Manito twenty years ago. Survived by his wife seven children six grandchildren two sisters four brothers and many relatives. Services were held June 5 at Johnson Funeral Home and Bethel Baptist church Saidora with burial in Bethel Cemetery.

Mrs. D. J. Powell has returned home from Colchester Illinois where she taught for her sister since May 6. Her sister Mrs. Elsie Gagg recently underwent surgery at the University of Iowa Clinic Iowa City and is reported to be recovering as rapidly as possible.
