Federated Church Family Nite March 3

The third and final Federated Church Family Nite will be held Monday at the Baptist Church in Forest City. Mrs Louis Lempke’s Sunday School class serves a 6 30 p m pot luck dinner, then travel photos by Ernest Warner of Washington Illinois, music by Forman High School students, and piano selections by Nandannikirk and John Dosier. Public invited for fellowship.

Nonations at Ces Square Dance Near $200

About 300 people attended the Rebecca Chapter 437 order of Eastern Star dance at Sky Ranch Lat. evening. Nonations totaled around 90. The Chapter thanks all who helped make the event a success.

Leap Year Dance in Forest City at Forman Jr High

A leap year dance is planned for Friday evening February 29 at Forman Junior High School Gym Forest City. Roy Shay’s Orchestra provides music for round and square dances. Cake walks a fish pond and homemade candy booth are featured. Refreshments on sale. adults pay 50 cents. children under 12 admitted free. The Legion and Auxiliary invite public to attend.

Mr and Mrs Eddie Parkin longtime house guests of Gustie Parkin and Clayton Shelabarger departed Monday by car to New York on the first leg of their trip back to Iraq where Parkin is Beatty Construction Co London superintendent of a large excavation project to ease the drainage problem of the Tigris river They will ship their car to England and tour France Italy and Germany before reaching Bagdad Iraq as final destination

A Forman Gym donkey basket ball match drew a large crowd with City Slickers beating Hay seeds 14 to 12 in overtime after a 12 12 tie. Coaches were Joseph Hobbs and C Nelson Warner. Net proceeds about 300 for the senior class. Pat Lynch won the advance ticket door prize. Several players sustained minor injuries.
