Mason Co 4-H and Jr Ag Association Elects Officers
Mason County 4 H and Junior Agricultural Show Association held an organization meeting. Officers elected include Raymond Markett as President William H Lane as Vice President John Harfet as Secretary and Wm Renound as Treasurer. The group plans two shows a 4 H show and a Junior Agricultural show open to youths 10 to 21 in Mason County or nearby districts. The joint project aims to promote improved agriculture and education with shows set for August 3 4 and a Tractor Operator contest August 5. Community donations are invited to fund facilities.

Plays to Be Presented in Manito and Forest City Dates Set
On February 21 in Manila and February 22 in Forest City six one act plays directed by Forrest Davis Lela Mae Dew Joan Davis Joyce Hailey Kurt Rankin and Janet Skinner with Everett Wolwode assisting will be staged. One play will win entry to the District Speech Contest in Lincoln Illinois on March 5. Three plays in Manila and three in Forest City. Musical numbers will also be featured for spring contests. Forman School Club backs the productions and handles profits. Tickets available from School Club members including Mrs Walter Proehl.

Salvation Army Drive Gets Underway
The Salvation Army annual drive begins in Mason County with Amos Thompson as chairman and R L Mahr as treasurer in Manita. In Forest City L R Skinner directs the effort with Miss Gladys Langston as treasurer. Last year Mason County committees spent 634 dollars assisting families with groceries clothing medical care and fire losses while 16 girls were admitted to the Salvation Army Home. Funds stay locally for urgent needs. Give once each year to your local committee.

Extension course registration set for Feb 16 at Mason City High
The second meeting of the extension course Server of Special Operation BICEP at Pol State Normal University will be held Tuesday February 16 1966 at 5 PM in Room I Mason County High School Mason City Illinois. The course is two semester hours with 11 meetings and weather kept some teachers from registering at the first session. Teachers may still register at the second meeting.
