Retired Farmer Eugene Ehret Dies in Manito Home

Eugene Ehret a retired farmer from the Manito Community died at 7 35 pm Tuesday at his daughter Mrs Kathryn Hamiltons home in Manito Born February 6 1863 in Alsace Lorraine France he came to the United States in 1882 and married Agnes Heim in Pekin in 1893 She died in 1921 Survived by four daughters Mrs Hamilton Mrs Emma Hart of Manito and Mrs Louise Sherer and Mrs Anna Zang of Peoria Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral services under Johnson funeral home direction will be at Immaculate Conception Church Manito at 10 am Friday Rev J J Griffin officiating Burial in St Frederick cemetery Manito Recitation of the rosary will be at the Hamilton home at 8 pm Thursday evening

James Greenhalgh Loses Arm In Picker Accident

James Greenhalgh 35 a Caterpillar worker living southwest of Forest City lost his right arm in a corn picker accident at Clarence Foster farm just before 10 a.m. He was amputated at the shoulder by Dr. Burhans Peoria and received a blood transfusion at Proctor hospital. He rest was reported improving Wednesday evening as his family from Pekin arrived.
