The county board met in regular session and again Friday to finish tax equalization. Protests over oyster privileges were referred to a committee. Pension applications by A J Pope P O Miller R H Whitehead James M Rogers and Mary H Smith were approved. A 7 mill school levy and 22 mill county levy were set plus 7 state and 224 total mills.

Manatee County Finances Light Up With Surplus
The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners reports a strong fiscal end to the year June 80th. The state levy rose by one and a half mills yet the overall levy remains two mills less than last year. The treasurer’s report shows funds with a surplus in the fine and forfeiture fund and a stable road fund after careful management and a recent $2,000 loan to establish cash footing. The Record declares Manatee County among the best fiscally in the state.
