Chas Pelot and six companions fished the cattle-gap bulkhead last Friday and landed a monster mullet after a long bite. The six anglers including the editor watched the reel sing to a 2:40 pace as the fish was finally beached.

Delinquent Tax List to Be Published in Palmetto News

The delinquent tax list has arrived at the printer. It will appear this week in the Palmetto News. The sale will be on the first Monday in August. Taxpayers may still pay their taxes to Tax Collector Alex Roesch but must cover the advertising costs.

School Board Reports Into Excellent Condition of Finances

Supt. W M Rowlett presents the annual fiscal report for the year ending June 30 1907 showing the general fund deficit cut to 915 49 and total school property valued at 41 067 00. Board appropriations for buildings totaled 4 848 77 with receipts 24 127 48 and teacher salaries 17 761 25. Seventy teachers taught forty six schools with 1 874 pupils 1 635 white and 289 colored. The Board also notes a potential one mill millage cut in future estimates.

The Medical Society of Manatee County met in Manatee Tuesday morning and continued in session until 8 o clock in the afternoon discussing malaria. Papers read by Drs.
