The first car-load of ice from Manatee’s new factory was shipped to Sarasota on Wednesday. The ice is described as high quality with a rich elegant Jersey Cream flavor and is expected to sell well. Col J H Lord of Sarasota travels to Wells Depot Maine for summer with his family. Mosquitoes in the hammock area are said to be so bad they pull up orange trees as they are planted.
The Board authorized a $2000 loan for road purposes. A petition asked to grant a public road from Mitchellville and Duette road across the Manatee river to the old Fort Hamer road and beyond to Mill creek. J W Hamilton billed $106.25 for Range Line ditch work and ditch script was issued. Wm F Parrish resigned as inspector of marks and brands for district No 11. Board adjourned after no further business.
