Reception and dance at Danish Hall followed. couple to reside in Council Bluffs after a Hawaii wedding trip. The Harry Hammons Post met at Malvern Liberty Memorial Building at 7 30 p m Monday September 26. Commander John Phelps led the session urging members to write to their Congressperson to save the canal. The 7th District Fall Conference was announced for Clarinda American Legion Club and auxiliary activities planned for Clarinda Mental Health Auditorium. A motion approved a donation to the Mental Health Association of Iowa for the Canteen Card program. A reception will be held Sunday.

The Hillsdale United Methodist church held its 49th Harvest Home and Homecoming on Sunday September 18 drawing attendees from Glenwood Silver City Council Bluffs Pacific Junction and nearby areas. Rev Leon Wallace delivered the morning sermon on Harvest Home with music by Mrs. Marvin Boyce and Mrs. Robert West. A noon basket dinner featured fall decor and a lively song fest followed by talks reflecting on past Harvest Celebrations. Guest speaker Bill Perry of Area 13 Media spoke as Rev Laine A Mathiason sang with accompanist Mrs. Carl Buch. The event closed with a congregation singing God Be With You Till We Meet Again plans for a Golden Anniversary on September 17 1978 were announced.
