Mills County residents and families gathered Monday night at the Claude Robertson home in Pacific Junction for a wood craft workshop. Barbara Buffington, Extension Home Economist, promoted simple carving and a fast staining method for projects suitable for Cub Scouts and 4-H'ers. The event offers a nail hole relief project, provided instructions, and a $1 program fee, with all supplies except a hammer.

Nishna Care Center hosted the Garden Club meeting last Tuesday with five resident members in attendance. Visitors stopped by before departure as fall rides ended in nice weather. The garden yielded large turnips and zinnia seed was collected for next year. Winter onions are being planted as Mrs. Hazel Summers attended with her daughter. Ralph West spent Sunday with his Red Oak family. Mrs. Truly Stephens enjoyed a family dinner at her son’s home. Baptist congregation provided Sunday service. Mrs. John Kline played piano and Rev. DeGolier delivered the sermon.
