Open House for Dale Core Newlyweds In Mace-donia

An open house honoring Mr and Mrs Dale Core newlyweds will be held Sunday Oct 16 in the Community building at Mace donia. Relatives and friends are invited to call between 3 and 5 pm. Craft Carnival Set for October 27 at Glenwood Armory

Mills County Extension Home Economies Committee hosts Craft Carnival on Thursday October 27 from 1 to 8 pm at the National Guard Armory in Glenwood. The birthday party and Veterans Day dinner are set for Nov 13 at 1 pm in the Liberty Memorial Bldg with district and state officers invited if weather allows.

Reports Given At UMW Meeting

Twenty two persons met at the Malvern United Methodist church Oct. 1 for the regular UMW meeting. The treasurer reported a goodly amount taken in at the Methodist Pantry during Heritage Day celebration. This was a joint project of Malvern and Strahan United Methodist Women. Several women reported that they enjoyed the district meeting at Shenandoah last Tuesday. Trene Cowell gave the devotions and Rev. Cowell had charge of the program. Elva Hoover, Cecile Robbins and Mildred Martin served dessert and coffee and tea.

Jennie Jamboree Set for Oct 26 Hospital Bazaar

The Jennie Edmundson Hospital Auxiliary hosts the Jennie Jamboree in the hospital cafeteria on Wednesday October 26 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors include Jennie’s Jewels antiques Jennie’s Junk crafts Jennie’s Jems handmade items and Jennie’s Jiffies baked goods Silent auction door prizes and a final raffle drawing at 2 p.m.

Band Parents Report The Fall Dinner A Success

Malvern Band Parents held a regular meeting October 4 in the Jr High School lobby. A report praised the October 2 Fall dinner for strong community participation and contributions. Proceeds will fund new band uniforms, with plans for 1978 dinners and Fine Arts Awards. The uniform committee reported selling old hats and received several supplier recommendations. Parents are asked to listen to EMA for schedule changes on out of town performances.

The party of 186 passengers faced a strike delay at the airport and could not reach Minneapolis. With London hotel rates at 50 to 70 dollars, Dan Aire chartered three buses to take everyone to Brighton by the Sea. Continued Next Week.
