Saturday night the Rohbergs and Kenton went to Mineola Church chicken supper then to Malvern for 4-H awards where Kenton earned a swine award. Frank Fay and children from Malvern dined with Earl Harman and Art Thieschafer families. About 30 people from multiple towns attended a cooperative dinner at Robert Shaul’s near Strahan. Other weekend guests included George Phelps of Harlan and Elmer Carlberg family. Florence Howard hosted Saturday visitors from Berwick and Conception Junction plus Griswold. Drayton Slaughter and Elmo Davis visited near Malvern last Saturday. Valett Phelps and family joined a Sunday dinner near Pacific Junction.

Prize Winners Install Officers at Mills County Meeting
The Mills County Prize Winners held their October gathering at the Methodist church in Tabor with Kathy and Karen Sell as hostesses. World War I Veterans Meet in Sidney October 21

Death of Former President Occurred in Oklahoma
Homer Mayberry received a call from his son William of Bixby Oklahoma that his mother Mia Louise Townsend had died in a Guthrie nursing home. Burial followed in Guthrie beside her late husband Townsend. Louise Stone Townsend a former teacher and librarian, active in church work, lived in several towns in Oklahoma and Mills County. She was nearing her 90th birthday December 1.

The Fast Liberty Church board held its regular meeting Thursday with Rev. BE LeRoy Pullman as chair. Mrs. W C Stotts led devotions and reported the secretary and finances. Plans for Harvest Home Sunday were refined and Bible study on The Sermon on the Mount was slated for the next meeting on November 8.
