Hillsdale events mix teas lectures and homecomings

Hillsdale hosted a tea and lecture on missionary work at the Pacific Junction Methodist church with Ben Jackson Ernest White Glen Howery and W J Van Orsdel among attendees. A coronation and Glenwood Homecoming activities drew many families and visitors from nearby towns.

Hillsdale WSCS Plans White Elephant Sale and Meeting

Hillsdale WSCS will meet at Mrs. L. F. Seeger’s home in Tahor on Oct. 18 with Mrs. Ernest Brower leading devotions and the lesson. The event doubles as the annual White Elephant sale, and attendees are urged to bring Christmas items for the Bidwell box.

Plan Interesting Program for Hillsdale Family Night

Hillsdale Church hosts Monthly Family Night next Sunday at 7 p m with Mr and Mrs Claude Williams and Mrs Ernest White as hosts. Co operative program promises entertainment. Hillsdale Church Board Meets. resignations noted

Hillsdale Official Board convened Monday for its monthly session with average attendance. Reports came from commissions and the pastor. The resignation of Mrs. Dale as MYF sponsor was read. No new appointments were made. Meeting adjourned until November 6. Meanwhile, local residents track a busy social week with visits, parties, and events in Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Malvern, and Omaha.

Book Review Given at Federated Club Guest Day Hastings

The Federated Club met Friday at the Hastings church for the second meeting of the club year. Forty-five members and guests attended a 12:30 luncheon hosted by the Hastings WSCS with guests from nearby towns. Mrs. Henry Washburn led a piano prelude and Mona Pace gave a spiritual thought before a business session. New members Mia Otto Menschel and Miss Hulatie Larsson joined the club after a review of Look Both Ways by Hilda Esty. A food sale raised about 22 dollars, and plans for bulbs and future events were discussed. next meeting is November 2 with a Thanksgiving program.

Hastings Iowa town council met in regular session October 2 1962 at 8 o'clock with Mayor Hites presiding.
