Red Oak Christian Women Plan December Doll Theme Lunch

The Red Oak Christian Womens Club meets Monday December 8 at 1 p.m. at the Red Oak Holiday Inn with dolls as the luncheon theme. Cancer Unit Met Nov 18 At Henderson Home

The Bills County Unit of the American Cancer Society met Nov 18 at Mary Lauridsen's Henderson home with fourteen board members and two guests. Shirley Fickenscher presented an education program. Velma Harold reported two films shown at a Baptist church ladies meeting in Glenwood. Next meeting set for Jan 20 at 1 p.m., location to be announced. SEA Award to Glen Adkins Shenandoah educator honored

The Shenandoah Education Association awarded Glen Adkins the first SEA Award for outstanding administrator and educator last Wednesday. As director of elementary education he oversees 35 teachers and 550 students across four centers, coordinating special education and federal programs, editing The Planter, and serving as a home game announcer and scorekeeper.

Winter Farm Operation Course at ISU Opens Dec 1

Steve in ISU Farm Op Course Encaliinent enrolls 12 students for 376 sessions at Iowa State University. Classes run December 1 through February 27 with four out-of-state participants. The program aids farmed workers unable to attend yearlong college. credits may transfer to certificates or BS degrees. Admission requires high school graduation. Courses cover farm management livestock production crops soils maintenance welding and machinery management.

About 90 4-H members and families attended the Ingraham Straight Shooters and Loyal Lassies Family Night pot luck supper on November 10. The first business after the dinner was the Extension Council election for Ingraham.
