County Wheat Allotment for 1958 Announced
The 1958 wheat allotment for Hills county is fixed at 9,540 acres, up from 2 14 acres in 1957, announced by Edward W. Hopp, chairman of the county ASC committee. Notices of individual farm allotments will be mailed the week of June 10, ahead of a June 20 referendum on marketing quotas, with voting rules to be published for Mills county. The Iowa 1958 state allotment totals 138,175 acres, with the national figure at 55 million acres. Ten counties hold the largest shares, led by Monona and Harrison, as local farm groups prepare for Rally Day and club activities later in May and June.
