Malvern Couple Weds in May 15 Presbyterian Ceremony

Lois Clay and Marlin Henderson exchanged vows May 15 at the Presbyterian church in Malvern in a double ring ceremony conducted by Rev. Hugh Shiveley. The couple, both from nearby families, were attended by sisters and relatives as bridesmaids and groomsmen. A reception followed at the Community building hosted by the Presbyterian Guild. The bride wore a silk organza gown with pearl lace and a chapel train. her attendants wore lavender taffeta. The couple resides on a farm east of Malvern after graduation from local schools.

Program Honored Mothers at CES Meeting Tuesday

Silver Urn Chapter honored mothers Tuesday evening at the Masonic Temple in Malvern before their regular meeting. Mrs. Elmer Jackson welcomed guests, with Miss Chelly Mort delivering a Rainbow solo and DeMolay boys presenting the ceremony and Flower Talk. Guests from Malvern and nearby towns attended. the evening closed with a social hour. A June 30 special meeting was planned after the usual business session. WSCS met May 5 at Mrs. Harry Evans home with 27 members. the president led the business while Mrs. Scott delivered the lesson.

June gathering plans were made at Mrs. Warren Dayrah's home with a 12:30 p.m. pot luck, marking the final summer meeting.

Funeral services for Jesse Hummel set this afternoon

Services at 2:00 this afternoon for Jesse Hummel are listed with interment at Malvern cemetery. He died Monday evening at his daughter’s home, and is survived by his wife, children, a brother, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Malvern Girl Scouts held a Court of Awards ceremony at the Community building Tuesday. The Cadettes opened with the flag ceremony and pledge, followed by group singing of America the Beautiful. After the oath the colors were posted.

Malvern Girl Scouts showcase Radio TV and Love Badges

Cadette Ronda Reed led a Hello Song and Growing Up Tree as Juniors and Cadettes performed an Indian dance with tom toms and noisemakers. Cadettes explained two years of activity via a 15 minute recording. Badge awards were given by Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Bass. Cadettes presented a troop flag to the Malvern group.
