Henderson Clubs in Busy Season

Mrs. Art Fritcher hosted the Library club Tuesday with seven members and one guest, Mrs. LeRoy Magers. Entertainment by the hostess, with strawberry sundaes and cake. The Mothers club met at Macedonia with Mrs. Roy Bird. Rev. 1:3 devotional, quiz on the flag by Mrs. Fred Roeder, then refreshments. Mrs. Carl Helton, Earl Clark, and Elaine Clark joined Mrs. Harvey Bolton at the Mothers tea, and Mrs. Earl Allensworth attended the tea with Mrs. Don Alensworth at Fellowship Hall in the Methodist church.

Scott Vanderlinden returned home from Seymour and Confidence visiting relatives and was welcomed by grandparents Mr and Mrs CG Vanderlinden.

Henderson Indiana Town Council Minutes June 1 1961

The Henderson Town Council met in regular session with C Kadel Brown Forward Fleming present. Mayor Fritcher and Councilman E Kadel absent. Minutes approved. Bills totaling 151 20 were ordered paid from general and light funds. A cigarette permit was issued to Leroy Shook. Meeting adjourned with Homer C Taylor clerk. Att Pritcher Mayor.

Elvin Galloway remained a patient at the Veterans hospital in Omaha from Wednesday of last week through Monday. Orion Harris of Red Oak confronted him during the period.

Local guests and visits in Malvern community

Anch children were guests of the Richard Isaacson family for a Dienic supper Monday evening. Carla Jo Allensworth of Trey mor was an overnight guest Saturday of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allensworth. Mrs. H. C. Henderson, Judy and David drove to Seymour Friday for the weekend. Bob, who had been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Henderson, returned home with them on Monday.

Open House at Shook Cafe Draws Local Crowd

The Shook Cafe held an open house on Saturday night with towers from friends decorating the venue. A large crowd attended as music provided by Don Duysen and Doyle Debolt. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Garrett and son Carl of Rogers Arkansas visiting with Mrs. Helen Winchester and Mrs. Marvin Warren and families. Sunday featured a family dinner at Mrs. Winchester’s home. Numerous relatives and friends from nearby towns joined in, including the Winchesters, Colu mbus Myers, Jim Winchester, Rodney and Cindy, and many others. Several notes mention visits, parties, and hospital stays tied to local families.

Vacation Bible School closed Friday after a week with an enrollment of 65. Most had perfect attendance. Program held Sunday at 10 a.m. supervised by Ruth Scott.
