Open House at Keystone School Near Emerson Attended by 200

Open house at the Old Keystone rural school Sunday June 18 drew about 200 attendees plus unregistered visitors. Guests viewed era exhibits, heard program items led by E d Wearin and Otha Weirin sal o, and honored teachers and former pupils including Amy Hammers and Trent Cole. The event celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Cole with ceramic gifts and memories from local history.

Shower Honors Mrs Mercer in Gloria Dining Room

Mrs Mercer was honored at a Wednesday night wedding shower in Emerson in the Gloria dining room. Hostesses Thelma Blank Robert Winders Everett Lunn and Richard Steen organized humorous games and prizes. A poem was read, and Mrs Edwin Thorson presented it. S. Pearl Mercer poured, with lace table and pastel flower baskets enhancing the event.

A group of Iowa State Teachers College alumni visited in Omaha for a reunion Saturday night and Sunday. Several members from 1928 Cedar Falls gathered, sharing memories and a long-running Round Robin letter. Attendees included Mrs. Peter Thomassen, Mrs. Don Maxwell, Mrs. A. L. Johnston, Mrs. Ralph Pender graft, Mrs. George Pogue, and Mrs. Harold Sowers, with one member absent.
