Mr and Mrs Leslie Richardson were honored for their 60th anniversary at their former farm home. AG and Mrs Richard Anderson hosted with several granddaughters great granddaughters and relatives assisting. About 140 guests attended including relatives from Geneva June Wise and Lt Marlin Leslie.
Mr and Mrs Corwin Hardy announce the engagement of their daughter Beverly Jeannine to James J Wray son of Mr and Mrs Joy Wray Glenwood. Mr Wray is in the Navy and serving in Viet Nam. No wedding date set.
Mr and Mrs Louis Stortenbeck announce the engagement of their daughter Caroline to Charles Copperstone, son of Mr and Mrs Joe Copperstone of Malvern. Caroline is a 1962 Treynor High School graduate and works at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Charles, from the 1957 Silver City class, farms. The couple plan an April 23 wedding.
The February meeting of St. John's Ladies Aid focused on the theme Sent with the Gospel. The study topic explored how faith and charity connect in their community work.
Mrs. Ernest Ravnsborg of Turin Ia and Mr. Neal Beukelman of Edgerton Miss announce the engagement of Jane Jeanette Ravnsborg to Virgil Dean Beukelman. Jane attends Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville majored in music while Virgil holds a bachelor’s in education with music and political science minor from Central College Pella. He teaches at Malvern High School. The summer wedding is planned.
Mary Circle schedules a pot luck dinner for February 23 at 12:30 in Fellowship Hall with Betty Evans and Rose Marie Shaw as hostesses. Mrs Harry Evans to give the lesson The Box Elder. Virginia Messenger hosts the Feb 7 Women’s club meeting with 18 members. a Omaha day is planned for Feb 16. Nettie Burgoin Lois Yates and Elaine Deitchler receive birthday gifts. The gathering adjourned after a 50s game with prizes to Marylin Rick er Ann Clark and Margerine Turner. lunch was provided by the hostess.
Deborah Society of the Baptist church met Feb. 3 at Mrs. Thugh Shiveley home. Plans were made for the Eastern Star School of Instruction dinner on Feb. 25 at the Baptist church. Committees were appointed for the mother-daughter banquet on April 26. Devotions closed the meeting and light refreshments were served. Ruth Salyers hosted a Valentine party for the Methodist Sunday School class. 26 attended with an Easter program and snacks and games afterward.
A pot luck supper was held last Wednesday night at the Masonic Temple in Malvern with DeMolay members and families along with the advisory board in attendance. About 40 people joined the meal and social time. Families came from Tabor Silver City Glenwood Emerson and Malvern. WSCS Meeting Planned at Wortman Home
