The century old Oriole will be retired and replaced while colors orange and black stay. The vote occurred last Friday with most students favoring change and suggestions to be considered later. Clarinda College Honors Freshman Carol Horn

Carol Horn, a freshman at Clarinda Community College, earned a place on the dean’s list for outstanding scholarship in the first semester. Daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Hort of south of Malvern, she achieved a 3.27 grade average on at least 12 hours, above the 3.20 requirement.

Iowa Power Farming Exhibition at Des Moines Vet Memorial

The Iowa Retail Farm and Power Equipment Association hosts a two day show February 16 and 17 at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium Des Moines. Farmers can inspect forest and farm equipment and talk with manufacturers representatives. Gwen Davis of Iowa Power and Light will lead cooking demonstrations. Tickets available from member dealers.

Masons of Six Counties Meet Feb 20 at Atlantic

Masons from six western Iowa counties gather February 20 at the Masonic Temple in Atlantic for a workshop sponsored by the Iowa Masonic Education committee. The program includes Masonic problems and principles lectures, a Mock Lodge demonstration, DeMolay promotion, and a dinner at 6 p.m. Local and visiting officers, including Henry Lanny and Frank I. Millen, will lead opening activities. Thirty-five lodges from Pottawattamie, Cass, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page counties are expected to attend.
