Violets Bloom After a Neglected Start in South Window
The author and family recount rehabilitating two African violets left in poor condition. In a south window they revived, producing lush green leaves and abundant purple blooms. They remind of Christmas cards arriving in November and the home’s warm, welcoming atmosphere. The piece also notes the funeral of Rev. Frank Jacobs in Montezuma and his simple, direct faith.
