Lightning Strikes Two Barns in Severe County Storm
A violent storm with heavy rain and lightning hit the county last night. Near Straban the Hambich barn burned, destroying its contents and a corn crib holding about 200 bushels. South of Malvern, Stevessonu's hay barn burned to the ground with ten tons of hay and some machinery.

From Constantinople to home professor Ion and Dwyer visit
Prof Ion and the Dwyer family traveled from Constantinople, Turkey, for a week’s visit with his father, John Dwyer, northwest of town. Mills County Fair Opens With Busy Pace and Busy Stables
The Mills County Central Pal fair began its 33rd annual exhibition Tuesday in the southwest part of the state. Secretary Ward and staff rushed to catalog entrants as horse speed events drew a large field including top drafts and Thoroughbreds. Cattle and Swine show strong entries, with notable Shorthorn breeders like C. C. Warren and George White contending. one roan Shorthorn heifer valued near $500 died after overheating. The floral hall and Midway offer ample amusements, while new grandstands and an amphitheatre boost race viewing and ball games among Glenwood, Pacific Junction, Hastings and Malvern.
