Long Auto Tour Planned by Winkler Family

A.B. Winkler and family plan a 700 mile round trip from Glenwood to Colorado Springs starting Wednesday. The voyage includes 30 days away with Ada and Ethel Winkler and Ben Hall as pilot. Ada Winkler will report on the trip for the Tribune Mills County Tribune.

Death of Miss Maude Moore in Silver City

Miss Maude Moore died in Silver City Thursday after a brief illness born June 16 1888 in Silver City she joined the Methodist church and Epworth League and sang in the choir the funeral was held Saturday at 2 p m conducted by Rev W W Bolinger of Malvern in the absence of Rev Moser many floral offerings marked the high esteem in which she was held she leaves her parents and a host of friends

Lightning Kills Four At Farm Near Town

A Tuesday afternoon lightning strike at the farm of Chas Boles south of town killed four animals among three teams of mules and horses. Elmer Shennefield owned one mule and Mrs Walter Boles owned the other three teams. Men sheltering under a canvas cover were not harmed. N M Chambers of the Pottawattamie County Mutual inspected the loss the next day.

Frank Mokineny of Council Bluffs admitted July 27 that his report of Chism Hanley’s drowning on July 10 was false. Hanley, said to be dead with $2,000 life insurance, was seen alive with his wife. a witness claims to have watched the drowning.

Beard shaved prank ends in arrest in Clarion

Stephen Maryhew, sixty, went to Dows barber shop for a joke by shaving his beard. He then traveled to Clarion to visit his wife and daughter, who refused him entry. After forcing his way in and being restrained by his wife, he was arrested by the town marshal with help from the Dows barber to prove his identity.
