Kite Williams nuptials mark candlelight wedding in Hastings area

Marilyn Sue Williams and William Louis Kite wed at Strahan United Methodist Church in a candlelit ceremony on Sunday April 4 at 7 30 p m Rev Richard G Viney officiated. Bride daughter of Mrs Marjorie Williams and late George Williams of Hastings groom son of Otis Kite of Pacific Junction and Mrs Dariene Barker of Glenwood. Couple will reside at 207 S Vine Glenwood after a Lake of the Ozarks honeymoon.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Observed in Malvern

Jelty Dozen Club met Wednesday evening with Mrs. Carl Anderson and 10 members two former members and one guest. Gifts were exchanged after lunch served by the hostess on Sunday May 2 to honor Mr. and Mrs. Ed Walker on their golden wedding anniversary. Friends are invited to call 2 to 5 PM no gifts requested. Gloria Durham Bridal Shower Honors Wille Wendell Prindle Bride

A pre nuptial shower for Gloria Durham was hosted at Mrs Diane Parker home in Corner Bluffs with co hosts Mrs Donna Baxley and Miss Debbie Durham. About 20 friends and relatives attended as orange and yellow color theme featured cake punch nuts and mints. Gloria will become the bride of Wendell Prindle on May 29.

Democratic Ladies in White Elephant Fete

Mills County Democratic Ladies plan a May 3 meeting at 7 p.m in the Mills County State Bank Community Room to elect officers. A salad bar and White Elephant sale will accompany the gathering. Members are asked to bring a salad and their own table service. All Democratic ladies are invited.

Name Neyati Unit for Council Bluffs Benefactor

At the Nishnabotna Council Girl Scout annual meeting it announced that a newly developed unit at Camp Neyati north of Glenwood will be named for Marion Boehler of Council Bluffs in honor of her generous bequest. It will be the third of five units. the camp spans five camping units two primitive units a year round lodge a lake and 280 acres of woods and hills.

Mrs. Biermann Named Extension Homemaker of the Year

Glenwood resident Mrs. Fred Biermann was chosen Extension Homemaker of the Year at a Malvern luncheon on April 21. The Mills County Extension Home Economics Committee honors the top homemaker from nominees by local women's groups. 130 attendees viewed a fashion review featuring 45 garments spanning from the 1700s to the 1950s.

Malvern 39ers Plan Tulip Festival Trip Reservations

The Malvern 39ers held an April 20 birthday party at the Community building with 19 attendees. Honorees were Marjorie Jones Betty Dunbar and Leona Eret. Hostesses included Mrs Eret Jessie Frazier and Lorraine Lamm. A potluck dinner is set for May 4 at noon and seniors planning to attend the Pella tulip festival should call Dorothy Churchman by May 1 to reserve. A bake sale is planned for May 29 with final plans forthcoming.
