Easter Theme Dominates UMW April Meeting

Twenty two ladies met at the church on April 7 for the United Methodist Women gathering. Viola Jackson led with Spring and Easter reflections. Reports show luncheons and dinners held through winter. Helen Parker was named Homemaker of the Year nominee winner. Sherry Bass presented the lesson Celebrate the Resurrection of Christ with slides. Hostesses Florence Bowen and Joan Ellison served dessert and coffee.

Easter Day at Nishna Care Center Welcomes New Resident

Nishna Care Center welcomed Mary Carlstedt of Red Oak as a new resident. Horace Richardson played piano for residents. Pooh Corners Nursery School children performed and gifted flowers. St John’s church ladies hosted an Easter birthday party with music by Elmer Bruce on accordion, Easter cupcakes, coffee, and prizes. Easter services were also held by Tabor R.L.D.5. church with lilies and cards. Several residents and visitors joined in over the weekend, though some names may be missing.
