Deschutes Canyon Rail Battle Sparks Engineer Activity

Activity in the Deschutes canyon centers on Harriman survey teams and O R & N Chief Engineer Boschke as to whether a Central Oregon route will run through the Deschutes or be blocked by Harriman engineering. Four survey parties operate along the river while Oregon Trunk Line advances location and right of way efforts. No Harriman rights of way have been secured yet, and suspicions of a obstructive motive fade amid ongoing construction plans.
