Early September Winter Hits With Record Cold
Residents faced an early taste of winter as a cold snap set a September record. Temperatures dipped to 12 degrees below freezing, freezing pumps and harming remaining garden vegetables while vines and flowers suffered. The spell marked an unusually early harsh frost for the month.

Accident on Horseheaven mountain injures Brogan family
John A Brogan of Axelandle drove a team that ran away down Horseheaven mountain on the Cherry creek side. Brogan suffered bruises while his wife and young daughter sustained broken legs and other injuries. They were found by Shrom ranch hands and brought to James Connolly's home where Dr King of Antelope treated them.
