Promoter L Lafollette accompanied him, and a favorable report is anticipated to boost local crops transport pending railroad completion. The rain is said to improve road conditions and tonnage prospects for the big road train.
Judge Brooks and Mrs Bertha Lehn of this place were married at Prineville on Monday evening May 18 1908. The ceremony took place at the home of Judge W A Bell who officiated. The couple returned to this town Tuesday to greetings from friends and will reside in Madras.
Yesterday Alf Parkey and associates hunted a coyote den behind the W C Blanchard place. Five coyotes were killed with two caught by dogs and three shot by Mrs Peace using a Lager pistol.
Members of the socialist party met in Banford's hall last night to discuss county nominees. Principal speaker was Mr. C. W. Allen of Linidiaw with short talks by A. B. McDowell and J. J. Horney, the socialist candidate for county judge. A fair sized crowd attended.
Married at Prineville on Wednesday May 29 2008 were Joseph W. Cook and Annie Green both of the area. Cook formerly worked in Madras and now farms a ranch south of town. The bride is sister to Mrs D A Cook and the couple will reside nearby.
