Plans outline securing right of way for a new road project this fall. Officials state property acquisitions and utility relocations will proceed with eminent domain steps as needed to complete the corridor.
Plans for a Shaniko to Madras railroad extending to Bend and Prineville progress with Crook County residents ready to cooperate. The project contemplates preferred stock of 100 par value with 7 percent dividends, redeemable at 105, payable in labor or cash, and aims to begin construction once sufficient subscriptions are secured.
The public school board has completed the list of teachers for the Prineville public schools for the year 1008 9. There are eight teachers and among the number may be found some of the best talent in the county. In the selection of principal there

The Law and Order League of Crook County Prineville Oregon publishes excerpts from the local option law about medical liquor sales in prohibition territory. It cites prescriptions dated and signed by physicians with conditions on renewals and cancellations. It announces a $25 reward for evidence leading to convictions under Secs 2 and 14.
The Madras school district announces new teacher selections for the coming term. Officials say the hires aim to elevate the school to one of the county’s best.
The Madras school board selected Professor W. R. Cook to teach the sixth seventh and eighth grades and Miss Clara Horney to teach the first four grades. The principal for the ninth and tenth grades remains to be chosen.
The Madras baseball team earned two straight wins, first 5 to 8 against Warimepring on Saturday and then 71 to 7 over Agency Plains on Sunday. A Saturday game vs the Indians ended 3 to 2 in a taut pitching matchup. Attendance was strong as locals supported the home nine in a season that has just begun.
