Crook county shows rapid wealth growth per annexation rolls. Five years ago unassessable property totaled 62 300 000. current total taxable property reaches 7 970 204. Western Crook drives gains through homesteads timber deserts and numerous improvements as cultivation expands to 59 185 acres valued at 907 559.
Santa Claus will visit Madras for a Christmas program at the M. E. church auditorium on Thursday evening December 24. The event features a log cabin chimney entrance for Santa to deliver presents, with a program prepared for both old and young attendees.

A drove of 120 hogs passed through town Sunday last to Shaniko where they were slipped to port land markets. They were owned by Crook county men and were bought by JH Phiemin for the Union Megt Co. The hogs were in fine condition averaging about 900 pounds.
