Brookfield Laughlin Held on 3000 Bond at Peoria
Brookfield Laughlin, arrested Sept 17 at Bushnell with 900 morphine and heroin tablets, is held on $3,000 bond by a U S commissioner in Peoria. Federal agents say he robbed doctors in four central Illinois towns and trafficked drugs while operating as a magazine and tobacco salesman. He faces Harrison narcotics act charges and is suspected in a theft of about $150 in Beardstown clothes.

Special Train of Gov Cox Wrecked Near Phoenix
Gov Cox presidential campaign train wrecked about 30 o clock fourteen miles north of Phoenix Arizona. Engine and four cars derailed forcefully shaking the party but no serious injuries. Engineer Charles A Nichols suffered a broken leg after leaping from the cab as the engine toppled. Railroad men blamed spreading rails for the wreck forcing cancellation of the Prescott address and upsetting the itinerary.
