McDonough county towns establish a network of livestock shipping centers. The thirteenth association was organized in Bushnell with B M Rodgers S E Mowrey A F Bergen Tra Riddle and Elgin Everly as directors. Elverly named president Mowrey secretary treasurer. Illinois hard road bonds sold strong in auction

Illinois first five million dollar issue of hard road bonds sold for four million seven hundred one thousand dollars at auction in Springfield. The discount was just under six percent and the yield basis about four point eight five percent. Continental and Commercial Trust and Savings Company bought in two blocks with six Chicago banks joining the pool. Macomb bankers praised the price as very good given current money conditions.

County Illini Assn Will Meet Saturday

McDonough county alumni and former Illinois University students are urged to attend a meeting next Saturday evening at 8 o'clock in the Macomb Commercial association rooms. The group aims to organize subscriptions for the memorial stadium fund, part of a national drive to raise 2,500,000 dollars. T. W. Everett of Bushnell serves as president and issued the call.

Senate approves old income rates in quiet vote

Washington Oct 25 Normal tax rates of 4 percent on the first 44000 of income and 8 percent on all over that amount were approved today by the senate without a record vote. The committee amendment proposing these rates, which Democrats twice sought to amend yesterday without success, was approved within a minute after the senate met. To Bartonville Sheriff Lanp left this morning for Bartonville taking Carl Fentem of Colchester who yesterday was adjudged insane.

Beer On Prescription Physicians May Issue Unlimited Prescriptions

The Treasury Department issued rules permitting medicinal use of beer wines and spirits with limits for single prescriptions. Physicians may write unlimited prescriptions but a pharmacist must fill them and ensure they are for legitimate medical use only. The rules set two and a half gallons of beer per use and one pint of liquor per ten days, with no refill policy.
