Four Yet Are At Large In Scotland Township Rumors

Rumors spread that Ernest Warden, one of four escapees from the county jail a week ago, remains near the Rush farm in Scotland township. Eight Men Die as Oil Tank Explodes Aboard G R Crowe

Ban Placed on Sale of Whiskey in East Area

Prohibition Commissioner Kramer announced a month old order suspending withdrawal of whiskey from bond in New York City and parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He said a request from Chicago agents seeks a similar order for the Chicago district, and policy there remains undecided. The ban sharply reduced illicit whiskey sales though alcohol withdrawals for industrial use were unaffected.

Arrests for Forgery and Burglary Stir Local County Jail

A 17 year old West Chase street youth was arrested after a forged check used his father's signature. Officers also arrested George and Jess Bellville on burglary charges from the Furquoin residence in Bethel township. Police recovered shoes, a watch, shirts and cobbler equipment among other items. Preliminary hearings are expected tomorrow in Justice Falkenthal's court.
