Invites issued by Dr J B Holmes George Allison and A L Hainline call Mer General Public to a Polmes Park dance for the McDonough County Orphanage. Admission is free with donations welcomed from a penny upward. proceeds will cover all expenses so the orphanage nets all funds.
Friday October 22 sets the date for a benefit dance at Hol ines park to aid the Orphanage. Doctors Holmes and P Russell along with Geo Miso and Al da Wainling will cover orchestra and hall costs so all free will offerings go to the institution. Attendees are urged to contribute what they feel appropriate.
The Normal Academy football team will open the season tomorrow on the Normal gridiron against Table Grove High School. Coach Roberts has been hard at work shaping his eleven, and the scrappy squad is expected to be formidable in the season opener.

Forgery cases involve a son of J A Ford of West Chase street with checks tied to local shops including Allison shoe store. Shoes recovered in a Bord residence pig pen.
At a recent school board meeting Miss Esslinger of Rushville resigned after eight days due to health issues. Miss Helen Ross of Table Grove was elected to fill the vacancy. The board also handled routine business. R. A. Miner displays two ears of corn from his Timber Land farm in Lamoine township.
