The testimony ties the Lithers to depositing the checks at the Livestock Exchange and into the governor’s credit.

Memorial Day ceremonies in Macomb remembered America's fallen soldiers with ideal weather and abundant blooms. The parade included the American Legion Macomb post, the Macombo Lovs band, G A R veterans, W R C members, Legion Auxiliary, Camp Fire girls, and Boy Scouts. Rev. A L Cole urged future public leaders to be statesmen not politicians, praising Washington and Lincoln in a park address before wreath laying at the cenotaph. Afterward, marchers joined W R C ladies for refreshments.
Mrs. Edith Rockefeller McCormick plans court action to bar her daughter Mathilde from marrying Swiss riding master Max Oser. Harold McCormick, her ex-husband, remains Mathilde's guardian, and will not object to his daughter's guardianship but will protest the international marriage.
Cormick said he could not discuss the court's power but noted that even if the court took jurisdiction it would be necessary to prove the marriage undesirable to win the point.
Henry E. Simpson of Pana Illinois died at Brook Hollow Oklahoma at age 82. A three time presidential aspirant he sought the Republican nomination in 1880 losing to Garfield then joined the Greenback party. He later led the Peoples Christian Party in 1912 as its nominee.
In Belfast on May 31 fierce rioting followed the killing of two constables. Incendiarism and bombing were reported as crown forces used machine guns. Police later confirmed four killed with a man and a woman found murdered in a house set ablaze.
Prof. EBB, the high school principal, and his family plan an afternoon departure by car for Ohio. They will visit sites in Indiana and southern Ohio before returning to Macomb around August 1.
Captain Cuttle won the Epson Downs Derby by four lengths in a May 31 race. Betting odds were 10 to 1 against the horse as spectators watched the winner plank home.

The Foxes from Macomb Boy Scouts won the track meet with 40 points at Normal Field. The Wolves scored 39, Beavers 22, and Panthers 4. James Rodgers and Tom Gilchrist led individuals with 15 points each.
Tony Morrow suffered a badly bruised and skinned right leg when struck by a car at the By-Stander corner this morning. He was unable to continue work until noon.
