Report notes a statewide event involving free water balloons described as money free in air. Contestants expected to end near or in the state of Texas with participation across multiple localities.
Twelve of thirteen balloons from the Balloon Race remain aloft while seven cross Wisconsin Illinois and Missouri toward Texas or near Lake Erie. Roy Donaldson of Wallsfield sees his gas bag rise and fall above Michigan before he lands near the lake in Milwaukee. The race, begun today, features one noninflammable bag with a radio device. officials say it may give unfair advantage.
Macomb Kiwanis Club held a weekly luncheon at the First Church to honor Civil War veterans. The event featured patriotic music and a table chaired by Nancy Delaney, with W. H. Iin of the local post delivering remarks as attendees enjoyed fish and fellowship.

George M. Cole the state automobile inspector warns that using one license plate on two or more cars is illegal and subjects offenders to fines. A recent violation was found with Sam Levin fined for duplicating plates and evading proper registration.
Carthage Illinois May 30 The Hancock County Board of Supervisors has a Republican chairman for the first time in three generations. James K E Crum of Durham township was elected by acclamation to lead the board which now holds a Republican majority of two members.
A new resident in Macomb explains the town’s many left handers as a joke. He claims they use the right hand for glad handing and the left for business, speaking with the By-Stander office in high spirits.
Macomb's strengthened baseball team hosts the Canton Greys of Canton next Sunday at 3 PM promising major lineup changes led by Herbert Schwartz of Joliet as pitcher and Tyree as catcher. Canton arrives with wins over Pekin and Galesburg as Macomb aims to boost its roster before the season.

Sioux City Iowa May 30 Mr and Mrs Peter Akens planned to return to Lithuania tonight after selling their home and saving ten years funds sewn in Mrs Akens underclothes. Masked intruders overpowered the family and escaped with the money and clothing.
At a state convention in Indianapolis on June 1 Democrats launched their fall campaign. Frederick Van Neny of Indianapolis argued that rejection of the Versailles treaty and the League of Nations covenant caused economic and industrial difficulties and the current business depression.
Supreme Court Justice Floyd Thompson will join the Northwestern University Law School faculty this summer. Other faculty members include justices from South Carolina and West Virginia.
