The schedule lists 19th commencement events starting Thursday morning with class day ceremonies and receptions for students and alumni. Activities include festival events, concerts, faculty receptions, a Sunday address by President, and multiple banquets and diplomas ceremony through June 8, naming venues and participants.
Bushnell baseball team visits Macomb tomorrow afternoon for the second summer game with Lynn and McDade in the Bushnell battery. Macomb counters with Douglass and Havens. Hubert, ex Three-I league player now in sheet metal work, is at shortstop. Local fans expect stronger lineup and plugged gaps. Game starts at 3 p m.
The Macomb Journal published a tentative list of band members and instruments, which the Macomb Rotary Club band committee rejects as unauthorized and error ridden. The first rehearsal is set for next Saturday at 9 o clock, likely at the Illinois theatre due to unfinished renovations.
George N. Marshall proprietor of the Park Hotel redecorates interior and exterior. Last week the moving rooms on the first floor were redecorated and next week the outside will be repainted. The hotel business has been a success since he took over.
Chicago on May 28 reports hog prices slumped with hogs selling for over five years low. Top price for best hogs was 7.90 a hundred pounds on the hoof, down from 8.25 Wednesday. All hog classes declined about 34 cents per hundred or more. Today’s high was 1.10 lower than a week ago.
In Clinton, a circuit court jury found James Hamilton Irvins killed Daniel Young on November 26, 1920, but ruled him insane at the time. He is ordered sent to the asylum for the criminally insane in Chester. Testimony linked his insanity to two weeks of continuous 150 centimeter gunfire during World War I. Irvins confessed to striking Young with an iron pin as he slept after Young accused him of scabbing in the Chicago switchmen’s strike.
Dayton report says aviator Eddie Rickenbacher from Columbus completed a cross country flight from the Pacific coast to Chicago then to Dayton. He changed planes at McCook field and departed at 11 07 for his continued solo flight to Washington.
The emergency tariff bill was signed by President Harding late yesterday and takes effect tomorrow for six months. It targets farm products and includes a clause to curb dumping of foreign goods. Adair band opens its concert season on Wednesday June 1 with a program by top local musicians. Wilbur Reynolds recovers his bicycle after it was stolen, then found in Colchester and returned.
Harold Damron of North Mc Arthur Street remains seriously ill at home after returning from Chicago more than a week ago and has since been confined to bed.

Springfield May 28 The Macomb Agricultural Fair was incorporated to run agricultural mechanical and household fairs and expos itions. Incorporators include A P standard John Ausbury S A Vnompson Tom Adcock John Graves J R Binnie and Charles Hanan. The name change reflects county wide representation efforts.
Clarence Dickerson woke to a missing watch in the First ward last night and police considered bloodhounds but found no clue. The timepiece was recovered this morning with the explanation that his son had moved it while playing.
Angola May 28 Mustapha Suphir a British Indian subject and former Turkish delegation member in London was publicly hanged as a spy in Parliament Square after a 16 day trial. He was the first allied nationality condemned in Turkey in many years for sending letters written in invisible ink to the British.
Bardolph residents voted in a school election with bond issue passing at 96 to 90. Intense interest divided partisans on both sides as polls closed at 4 o'clock.
The college plans an eleven week summer term, split into six week and five week sessions, contingent on state appropriation. If funds are approved, classes run mid June to early August with extended study hours, three meals daily, and lodging arranged through Miss Lavinia Stinson. Estimated expenses total about 50 dollars per term.
Insurance adjusters have not yet viewed the undisturbed remains of two barns destroyed by fire at the Hanan lumberyard, delaying debris removal and rebuilding plans. Estimated loss is 4500 to 5000 dollars until settlement is reached. Harvey Watson of Scotland township bought a Schumann piano from C W Saffell.
