Hard road refund quotas cut for fifty seven counties
Springfield May 6 The Holliday bill refunding to 57 counties for hard roads is trimmed from 5 million to 3 740 935 with funds allotted to counties. Quotas based on Highway Division figures must be spent on road bonds or improvements. Fulton county gets 2 dollars and Warren 41142 while McDonough receives none. Dell Barnes of Billingsville paid a 9 fine plus 8 10 costs after Wednesday night trouble.

Airplane Pilot Edward Gardner Dies After Spin Crash
Lincoln May 6 Edward Gardner of Lincoln died today from injuries suffered yesterday when his airplane crashed after a tail spin at a local aviation tournament. Gardner mother and sister live in Joliet Illinois and he is credited with carrying the first mail by plane from New York to Chicago.

E. Mont Reilly, a Kansas City businessman, was nominated by President Harding to be Governor of Porto Rico. The announcement came from Washington on May 6.
