Governor Vernor states two accepted small jurors out and promises 1050 miles of hard road as the state completes the 1922 road program and exhausts the entire state bond issue.
Announcement from Gov. and public works officials details a plan to pave 1050 miles of roads at about 31 million dollars with federal aid and local bonds. The project includes Lot 119 and fourty miles of heavy grading, with McDonough County among areas slated for improvement.
Mrs Schissler wife of the director at Lombard and the Galesburg hospital died following a tonsil operation. The death was attributed to heart failure. She had been out of the house about two hours when she fell ill. A fracture of the leg of her daughter Oscar Chalmers township surfaced in the report. An X ray later showed the image was null. A burglar who previously hit several residences on East Calhoun street returned to enter two additional houses the Schnerr and Barclay homes. At Schnerr the intruder entered the front door but was deterred by a barking dog. footprints were found next morning. At Barclay house a bare foot print appeared on the porch suggesting a small-statured suspect.
City council action restricts access to satay liquor and enforces state and federal prohibition by limiting possession and home brewing. Residents and transients face tightened controls as a new ordinance expands enforcement.

A full Tolinois Theatre audience enjoyed the high comic season with the Witty poet and the cast delivering strong performances. Repeats planned tonight with Neevans likely to be greeted warmly. The witty play keeps viewers alert with amusing situations as the Winois orchestra provides between acts and Dehority and Maguire supply costumes.
The Blandinsville farmer's picnic is set for August 17. The organizing committee selected the date to avoid conflicting events and maximize attendance.
In Waukegan Illinois on May 5 two jurors for the Len Simwil case were removed after preemptory challenges. One had been sworn and another accepted, with defense alleging juror discussion in the jury room. The ruling granted extra challenges to both sides as prosecutors protested the removal of Melville and the defense fought to replace him.
On Wednesday evening a crowd gathered at John Ei’s home to serenade his son Jesse and his bride.
