Two Hours Work Saves Bird From Tree

A gale gust in Galesburg caused a bird to become trapped in a tree near Neo Tompkins Street. Mrs Edith Inmane notified authorities as workers from the telephone company who assisted in the rescue removed the bird safely two hours after the incident.

Elmwood Hosts Military Track Association Meeting

The Military Track High School Athletic and Declamatory association holds its annual member meeting Friday in Elmwood. Fifteen high schools compete including Yates City Farmington Lewistown Rushville Knoxville Stronghurst Abingdon Aledo Alexis Rose Ville Biggsville Bushnell Macomb Norman Academy Elmwood. Strong teams are expected to challenge for top honors with Stronghurst boasting Putney and Knox ville with Tarpy. Blandinsville Macomb taxi line inaugurated

W T Tanning of Blandinsville has begun a taxi service between Blandinsville Seiota Good Hope and Macomb. The service plans two trips in seven passenger cars. A separate item notes Ben Anders’ Chevrolet touring car lost a wheel near the post office due to a broken spindle bolt, causing no serious damage.

Burglar Yet to Be Stopped as Home Visits Spread

The burglar visited multiple North Randolph Street homes including Attorney Tra J O Harra and the Curran residence. A purse was taken at one house. footprints and burned lucifers traced the intruder, who entered Lundberg Hainline and Curran homes by unlocked doors and a front window. Clothes were disturbed at the Timdbere home but nothing seized.
