Chicago March 26. One hundred forty four indictments naming eighteen men were returned by the Cook county grand jury after the second investigation into the alleged throwing of the 1919 world series to Cincinnati by Chicago White Sox players. Eight indictments against each person were returned. The indictments include the thirteen men indicted in the first investigation and five more charged with arranging the conspiracy. Named defendants include Carl Zork and Ben Franklin of St Louis Ben and Louis Levi of Des Moines and David Besler.
Chicago March 26 three men named William Erictzer Isadore Goldberg and T A Getree are under arrest in connection with the million dollar mail robbery at Union Station last January. Postal inspectors report recovery of 34000 in stolen bonds and say they expect more arrests. Erietzer says he found the bonds and handed them to Goldberg who gave them to Getree to sell. The Bennett firm aided the investigation.
Hazel, year and a half old daughter of Jack Schaufele of Colchester, suffered a severe gash in her hand and a broken milk bottle yesterday. She was brought to Holmes Hospital last night where surgical attention was given. The wound over two inches required several stitches.
