Cold snap hits Sciota as town eyes Bennie Graves fight
Sciota endures eight below zero temperatures with light snow while residents look forward to Bennie Graves competing in a major fight at Macomb. A large crowd plans to attend. The Chicago Concert Company performed at the Christian church as part of the lyceum series, and Fred Armstrong escorted three women to Macomb to catch the night train to Chicago for Christmas. Local grocery and general store stock is being liquidated as Geo. Bryan closes shop due to ill health, and Dick Litchfield exits the restaurant business amid a downturn. I C C F members drill for the county meeting, with Mr Barren of Monmouth visiting to discuss Stone Quarry Co. plans.
