John Salisbury a 25 year old farmer from Simmium HL underwent amputation of his foot at Holmes hospital after a accidental shooting during a rabbit hunting party Sunday afternoon. Salisbury was four and a half miles southeast of Summum when Harry Conn of Pekin discharged his gun shattering the ankle bone. He was carried home by friends but bled heavily before doctors arrived from Astoria.
