A 12 year old MacGregor pupil Jack Giles voices a plea for a community playground. The essay urges safer play areas with proper fencing and separate spaces for sand, slides, and pools to prevent accidents and foster cooperative play among children.
The North Norfolk local of the Manitoba Teachers' Society held its regular meeting in Austin on Monday evening May 8 with Vice-President C. E. Cole presiding. Attendance was small due to weather. A letter urging Federal Aid to Education was signed and sent to the Central Office. The group adopted a resolution condemning hastened regulation changes and lower standards for high school acceleration. A discussion covered the benefits of a larger school unit. The final meeting of the term is set for June 8 at MacGregor School with a potential guest speaker.
