The North Norfolk and District Agricultural Society mailed the 63rd annual Exhibition and Sports prize lists this week to former exhibitors. The lists include increased prize money in most classes and one correction in Ladies’ Work. Class 32 Section 45 should add a line for rated trim at 1.75 dollars, while Section 64 requires deletions and Section 56 updates.
The fair runs Friday July 7 with the E. J. Casey Shows for midway entertainment. A Dance and Draw for 2 Auto Rugs postponed from May 5 will be held in Light Hill Hall to raise funds for electricity. Admission 35 cents. June 21 features a Senior Baseball Tournament in MacGregor. June 28 the MacGregor Calf Club hosts a Barn Dance at Hulme’s barn in Nels. Watch for posters.

They note cold winter and warm March weather, visits with many named families, and a fundraising push for Manitoba flood evacuees including committee meetings and food donations coordinated by Mrs Parker and Mrs Kitson. A drive for flood victims asks for clothing beds mattresses blankets and money. Donors may leave items at the Municipal Office in MacGregor or contact any Village Council member for assistance.
The Juniors lost at Portage and the Seniors defeated Brandon 9 to 5. Tuesday the Juniors hosted Portage and fell 5 to 1. Gerald Cobbe started for the locals, four innings, then Murray Collins. MacGregor batters Shaw Snaith Palmer and Hotel had two hits each as Brandon’s hockey men Alf Francis and Jack MacKenzie join local ball. A return league game is planned in Gregor Saturday at 6 30 p.m.
Students anticipate graduation day the first in MacGregor with invitations out and a dance planned for the evening. Sports Day and a track meet drum up local excitement as Empire Day observances proceed, while Miss Lamont notes two students to welcome.
At a gathering held last Friday at Miss Annie Andersons home, the MacGregor Cemetery Committee elected officers and appointed caretaking staff. Mrs. J. McCarl was named president and Miss A Anderson treasurer, replacing the late Mr. Palmer. Irene Merrick and Stella Glover joined the committee, with Leslie Anderson named caretaker for the season.
