Prehistoric Indian Sites Found in North Manitoba
Manitoba Museum archaeologist Dr. Ronald J. Nash leads a five year study on about 220 sites in northern Manitoba north and west of Churchill. The work traces 8500 years of Chipewyan life with spear points knives and scrapers found at campsites along caribou routes and fishing spots, dated by C14 analysis, revealing long term occupation and trade with Great Plains peoples.
