Manitoba to pay farmers 4 million cash incentive
Manitoba will provide a cash payment of 1 per acre up to 100 acres per farm, costing about 4 million dollars. Agriculture Minister Sam Askiw says the plan is to prod Ottawa into quick price support action, with payments starting in about two months and open to all farmers. He sent letters to Agriculture Minister Bud Olson and Otto Lang outlining the program.

MacGregor district Hockey Association held Minor Hockey Day on a Saturday with five teams in action. Oakville defeated an opponent 80 while MacGregor’s 14 and unders, 10 and unders, 12 and unders, and 16 and unders posted varied results. Bulls on Sale At Brandon 66th Manitoba Cattle Breeders' sale
A total of 210 bulls will go on sale March 31 in Brandon at the 66th Annual Manitoba Cattle Breeders' Association sale. Included are 83 shorthorns 38 Aberdeen Angus and 144 Herefords. All bulls are culled before the sale and sold with a guarantee. The sale opens with shorthorns at 10 am Angus at 11 30 am and Herefords at 1 pm. The bull show occurs March 30 at the provincial exhibition grounds.

Boundary Commission Established for Winnipeg Reform
Premier Schreyer named a three member independent Boundary Commission to review ward boundaries under the Greater Winnipeg reorganization plan. The panel is led by Judge Peter Taraska with Charland Prud homme and Dr Hugh Saunderson as members. They will study the 48 single member wards proposed for a central city council replacing current municipalities.
