Manitoba to Gain and Lose Seats Under New Formula
A government bill proposes a representation formula for the House of Commons that could lift totals to 270 from 264 and shift seats among provinces. Ontario would gain to 94, Alberta and British Columbia would rise, while Manitoba and Saskatchewan each fall to 12. Quebec would drop to 73 and other provinces adjust, with full redistribution after census data in 1972.
