Community Centre Project Begins In MacGregor District
Work started on the MacGregor and district community centre after years of planning. Reeve Jim Duncan, Mayor Glenn Lye, centre chairman Duncan Lamb and treasurer Doug Noble officiated at a sod turning near Norfolk Manor. Over 20 students assisted as ground is prepared for the metal building.

The North Norfolk and District Agricultural Society prepares for its 84th annual fair from July 9 to 11 at Mac Gregor. Gerald Cobbe MP will open the event on Saturday at 2 p.m. Highlights include 4-H shows and sales, a pancake breakfast parade, live stock judging, minor baseball, fastball, and horse events across three days for all ages.

Summer recreation plans for MacGregor and area
School is out and a broad summer program pack is planned. Playgrounds open July 13 in MacGregor for five weeks with four hours daily and a 50 cent registration. Austin and Rossendale parks follow in July. A booth at the MacGregor fair July 9 10 offers information and registration. Children ages four to twelve may join. girls 16 or older may apply as playground supervisors with weekly pay. Swimming classes start July 5 at Jackson's Lake with $3 per person and $5 per family. registrations available at local shops and farms. adults also encouraged to participate.

A July 11 conventicle near Portage la Prairie features Pipers and The Very Reverend K G MacLean as guest minister.
