Spruce Hills 4-H Combines Hold January Meeting
The Spruce Hills Combines met January 27 with 10 members present. They planned a whist drive and dance for February 26 at 8 p.m. in the Spruce Hills Community Centre and decided to send 30 to the club council and 10 to the March of Dimes. They will purchase a long table for the centre and pay rink fees for the 4-H bonspiel at Sidney. An Easter vacation tour was proposed and achievement night is set for April 20. Next meeting is February 24 at 8 p.m. in the community centre.

The Sidney 4-H club notes a stormy Ice Capades outing on January 31 with many members and parents attending. Curling teams placed fourth at Carberry and second at Douglas Konspiels. A February 6 meeting at the Loewen residence had 10 members present and approved donations to Sprucedale workshop, 4-H club council, leadership association, and March of Dimes. Four members will speak at the next meeting. A 25 cent raffle quilt, a Sidney rink carnival on February 20 with races and costumes, and a March 5 meeting at DeAthes with lunch follow.
