Temperatures have been near normal this week with 40 above last Tuesday and a rink closure due to soft ice. The ladies bonspiel wrapped up as a success. Upcoming events include His and Hers March 5 6 and 7 with proceeds to the Community Centre. Crystal City Intermediates host Somerset tonight and Sunday. MacGregor Figure Skating Club Ice Reggae March 4 at 7 30 pm. Birthday wishes go to George Currie who turns 83 on March 2. MacGregor Collegiate bonspiel runs all week with 30 rinks entered as students curl after school and Saturday.

MacGregor Village Council Reviews Lotteries and EMO Topics
The Village of MacGregor council met February 8 with Mayor Ly in chair and full attendance. Items included lotteries EMO and roads bylaw passage plans for police and roads discuss meetings with Attorney General and Highways departments. Council approved building permits for Art Palmer and John Toews and assigned members to EMO recreation and water courses. Public liability coverage raised to $100000 and a house numbering project was approved with Lions Club support.

Beekeepers Hold Meeting In MacGregor
The South Central Beekeepers Association gathered at George Lloyd’s home on Tuesday February 16 with members from Carberry Gladstone Portage Treherne and Notre Dame. President Fred Clarke of MacGregor welcomed attendees as Dr Cam Jay entomologist at the University of Manitoba and Doug McRorie from the Department of Agriculture spoke on beekeeping topics. Informative talks and films were shown.

CAS Board Reviews Foster Home Policies
The Chil dren's Aid Society of Central Manitoba board discussed subsidized adoptions and expanding adoption services, foster home rates, and group foster home policy. 15 members from Portage, Elie, Gretna, Altona, and Morden attended. The board approved extending full services to DeFacto and Parent's Own Adoptions and considered subsidized adoptions with caveats.

Defensive Driving Course Sponsored By AUSUS Commerce

The MacGregor and District Community Centre committee sponsors a His and Hers bonspiel from March 5 to 7 with proceeds aiding the centre. Last year saw 30 rinks participate and three events with prizes each. O’Keefe rules require a lady to play third or skip. A dance with Gilbert’s music will follow in the MacGregor Memorial Hall on Saturday March 6. Entries close by Wednesday March 3, to Doug Noble or Fred Snaith.
